Dugway Geodes are found in the Dugway geode beds outside of Dugway, Utah. Common minerals found in these geodes include quartz in various forms, amethyst, and rose quartz. These geodes are believed to have formed when the lake’s wave activity eroded the geode-bearing rhyolite and redeposited the geodes several miles away as lake sediments. Some geodes are hollow, while others are completely filled with massive, banded quartz.
This Dugway geode is 2.5″ in length, 2″ wide and 1″ in depth.
