Description

Carborundum is also know as Silicon Carbide. Its an artificially produced mineral made by dissolving carbon into molten corundum (natural aluminum oxide) with intense heat from electrical furnaces. It’s also the world’s first artificially created mineral. In the mid 1880’s, it was found by Edward G. Acheson in an attempt to artificially create diamonds.

This Carborundum is 3″ in length, 2″ tall and 1.25″ wide.
