Description

Utah Septarian Nodules are found about 15 miles east of Zion National Park, Utah. They were formed in an ancient sea floor during the Cretaceous Period (30-70 million years ago). As they weathered out of the gray clay hills, one at a time, they could be picked up on the surface. Now they are usually found 20-30 feet underground. Their composition is made of Calcite (yellow centers), Aragonite (brown lines), Limestone (gray rock) and Barite (White or clear parts).

This Septarian Cube is a unique one of a kind. It has a cut edge for displaying and weighs half a pound. It is about 2 inches in height and 2 inches wide.
