Onyx is a type of chalcedony which in itself is a type of microcrystalline quartz. Onyx Stone is a gemstone most associated with the layers of white banding but also found with colors such as green, red and brown. Onyx has a long history of being a great stone for carving and it's uses in jewelry.

Each Onyx tray varies in style and pattern of onyx. you may not get one pictured in this post but each will have it's own unique onyx design.
