Knightia Fish Fossil



Knightia is the most common fish in any of the Green River fossil quarries. The fish size will be approximately 3 to 3 1/2″ and the entire matrix (rock) is roughly 6 in W x 5 in H x 3/4 in thick. Differences in size and shape of each fossil are to be expected. Age: Eocene (50 million years old).

This fish is Wyoming’s state fossil.
