Description

This Knightia Eocaena is the most common fish in Fossil Lake and may be the most common articulated vertebrate fossil in the world. Knightia is the most common fish in any of the Green River fossil quarries. There are three fossilized Knightia on this matrix.

Age: Eocene (50 million years old).

This fish is Wyoming’s state fossil.

This fossil in matrix is 8.25″ in length by 8.8″ in height and .8″ thick. Each fish is about 5″ in length.
