Goniatites were an early form of curved cephalopod. They are part of the ammonite family. The suture pattern has a zig zag appearance that is very distinctive. Our goniatites are of the Devonian Period (400 million years old) and are from Morocco.
These fossils are approximately 2 1/2″.
