Dendrites on Sandstone

Dendrites may look like fossils, but they are not the remains of living things. Dendrites are made of dark Manganese minerals, usually that form in a branching pattern. Dendrites are found between layers of stratified rocks, such as in sandstone from Beaver, Utah.

This Dendrite piece is 4.5″ in length, 2.2″ in height and 1.5″ in depth.
