Amethyst Flat Display Piece with Quartz

Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz. The color is due to iron impurities in the crystal structure. This semi-precious stone is also February’s birthstone. It is thought to cure addiction and the ancient Greeks believed drinking wine from an amethyst cup would prevent intoxication.

This piece has a growth of Quartz imbedded in the amethyst.
