Drusy Spirit Quartz Crystal

Spirit Quarts is a type of quartz where the face has been encrusted with a second generation of smaller crystals. Spirit quartz is often made up of amethyst, citrine and smokey quartz. It forms within cavities when silica rich minerals start to crystallize on a main seed crystal, creating a cactus like appearance. It can only be found in Mkobola, Nkangala District, Mpumalanga, of South Africa.
